Finally left Ooty, on a sleeper Bus, to Bangalore, journey was around 7 hours, everyone was handed a blanket/water bottle, and a bus sick bag... hmmm, about 15 mins into the journey I was fighting the urge to throw up... taking deep breaths, after an hour, (roads are really whiney) 3 people had thrown up, we made a stop, people, just urinate in the streets, and throw there rubbish out. Eeeew... rest of the journey was pretty easy....
Bangalore, I had been warned that it was really filthy, from a couple of Czech's I talked too, I later found out, that there had been a rubbish strike... an nothing had been collected for a few weeks.... lucky when we arrived.... the strike had ended...
We found our accommodation, another government building, thanks for one of Sripals/Raju's flatmates fathers... (is all about contacts here) cost 150 rupees, and that included breakfast, $3nzd for 2 people, for 2 night.... chatted a bit, and worked out what do do for the day.....
Got on a bus tour, around Bangalore, is surprising, how much English has filtered into Hindi, guessing any new modern works... they adopt the English version, so the bus tour was pretty understandable... next stop was a sultan palace, and my pet Hate with India... the price for foreigner's, normally this is 200 Times the local price, still pretty cheap (normally $2-$3), plus, the camera ticket.
Back on the sightseeing bus, visited the bull temple, a few European faces around here... had lunch, and visited a park, at this stage I was pretty shattered, after getting 1-2 hours sleep (maybe) from the bus trip, watched more squirrels, park was pretty green (had to pay to get in, yes, yet another foreigner price, plus a camera ticket), back for some sleep, I crashed out, Raju went off to get a shave, came back with a birthday cake! Yep! Turned 42 in India! (Bangalore)
Went out for dinner, had my first kingfisher beer... seemed a little sweet.... retired back! For a good nights sleep!!
